My Story
Passionate. Patient. Persistent. Pet-lover. These are just a few of the characteristics that describe me. I know each animal is different, and I’ll work with yours to give them the specific guidance they need. Whether you’re thinking about getting an animal, have a new pet, or already own a pet with behavioral problems, I am here to help using positive and balanced training methods for quick and reliable results!

I am a native Texan with a love for animals and people. My desire to work with dogs started in my childhood and this passion grew when I started working professionally with dual purpose dogs at the Department of Energy in 2005. Here I certified and competed in the United States Police Canine Association winning top placements regionally and nationally over the course of the years.. This required daily training and learning and perfecting my skills in bomb detection, agility, obedience, tracking, and protection work throughout the years with my canine partners. I also began using my expertise to train private clients on the side in my hometown and surrounding areas in Texas.
I have worked alongside multiple agencies in Texas and Louisiana at both private and public events. I eventually decided to aid our military overseas where I worked explosive detection dogs in Afghanistan from 2015 until 2017. My passion for training and handling dogs eventually birthed the start of K9 Citizens Club in the summer of 2017 in the Louisiana area where I saw the need for better dog training practices and owner education that would allow me to use this passion and experience to best serve the canine community.
I am also a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and a Canine Good Citizens Evaluator for the American Kennel Club (AKC).

Meet and Greet

This consultation allows us to meet one another and for me to evaluate your pup. Consultations lasts about one hour. This is a time for you to discuss training goals that you want to reach and any questions or concerns you might have. During this time, I will also observe and diagnose the underlying factors for a particular behavior. With this information, we can discuss a precise plan of action to help you meet your goals and I will give you some starter tips to implement immediately to help you begin. You will receive an overview of our session and a personalized tip sheet to help support your training between sessions. As issues come up, I am available to offer support until our next meeting. Don’t waste another moment!

Private Lesson Dog Training
Private lesson dog training is now incorporated into our Board and Train programs. This allows me to focus on the training needs and concerns of you and your dog to equip you with the best training methods and techniques. By working together in a private setting, we are able to move as slowly or as quickly as needed as you reach each goal. You will be actively engaged in the training allowing you to communicate more effectively with your dog. In each lesson, we review the skills from the previous lesson and teach new skills for the following week.
The private follow-up sessions teaches you how to train and work with your own dog. We will teach you how to successfully take your dog through all three phases of training to ensure that you have a reliable, well-rounded dog. During the private lesson dog training, our trainer will also answer any questions that you have about dog training or your dog’s behavior as well as providing tips and advice about better training and living with your dog.

Solutions for Dog Behavior Problems
If your animal needs help with a specific physical or behavioral issue, Behavior Consulting with K9 CITIZENS CLUB may be a great option for you, with personalized plans to fit your pet’s needs and your lifestyle. Our behavior modification can deal with issues such as: biting, fighting, dominance aggression, phobias, fear aggression, nuisance barking, housebreaking, separation anxiety, neurotic and destructive behaviors. Our trainers have years of experience in rehabilitating these types of behaviors in a variety of breeds. This training is customized to fit the needs of the dog and client.
Puppy Programs
PUPPY PROGRAMS - For dogs under 6 months old.
Puppies are supposed to be cute and fun 100% of the time, right? Well, they aren’t always! And all the things you’re hoping they grow out of… we can help you with those things now. That way you can have a puppy that grows up happy to listen to you rather than cementing in annoying habits from the start.
Play biting, house training, paying attention, dropping things and leaving things alone when you ask - and even calming down when you really need them to - that’s what we’re here to help you with!
Don’t struggle in a crowded group class or on your own.
This program includes private 1-on-1 lessons so we can help you personally with your puppy’s training, saving you tons of time and effort. You’ll get private lesson with your very own trainer in your home and eventually different environments so you have 1-on-1 help practicing around other dogs and distractions!
